Patrick Soluri is a multi-talented composer based in New York City who specializes in dramatic music for orchestra, ballet, opera, film & TV. His love of telling stories through music is evident in his large body of work and commissions for the stage, screen and concert hall. He has studied with many illustrious composers and musicians and received numerous honors & recognitions.

Highlights include commissions for three orchestral ballet scores, chamber music, film scores, and many orchestral concert works. In addition, he has written and produced hundreds of tracks of evocative music for film & TV in multiple genres ranging from orchestral, jazz and industrial to rock and world music.

His works have been performed, recorded and showcased by the New York City Opera, the Manhattan Chamber Orchestra, the Astoria Symphony and the Manhattan Virtuosi, among others.
His ballet scores have been performed by Dances Patrelle and featured world renowned dancers from American Ballet Theater and New York City Ballet. In addition to composing, his abilities have enabled him to work fluidly as an Orchestrator and Music Producer in numerous styles of music.


HOT NEWS

  • Patrick has been commissioned to write a children's ballet by the Cuyahoga Valley Youth Ballet in Ohio based on the "Fancy Nancy" children books by Jane O'connor, author of the "Nina Ballerina" series. The ballet will be choreographed by Francis Patrelle and will premiere in Akron, Ohio March 14th and 15th, 2010.

  • SAVE THE DATE: Patrick's CARNEGIE HALL DEBUT will be October 1, 2009 as part of the Remarkable Theater Brigade's evening of 10 minute operas. more info coming soon.

  • Patrick has been commissioned to write a one-act opera by the American Lyric Theater based on the stories of Edgar Allan Poe. It will be work shopped and performed throughout 2009 and 2010. As you might know, 2009 marks the 200th Anniversary of the birth of one of America's most treasured literary masters, Edgar Allan Poe... this truly is the year of Poe between the ballet and opera commissions!

  • Mr. Soluri recently orchestrated several episodes for the third season of the Emmy winning children's TV show, "THE WONDERPETS." These episodes were recorded by a live chamber orchestra. Two of these episodes debuted on Earth Day, April 22, 2009; The Wonderpets Save the Raccoon and The Wonderpets Save the Lochness Monster. The debut airdates for the rest of my episodes where Monday May 18th for The Wonderpets Save the Cool Cat/Hip Hippo (featuring guests Eartha Kitt and Jon Hendricks) and Thursday May 21st for The Wonderpets and the Amazing Ollie. The show won the 2008 Daytime Emmy for Best Music. All episodes should be avaialble soon on iTunes and in reruns.

  • May 1st, 2009 was the world premier of String Trio #2 - a chamber music commission for a wonderful private event. Please listen to my first chamber piece in years on the music player at the top of the page.
 

 
RECENT PROJECTS:
BALLET SCORE PREMIERE

April 16-19, 2009 was the world premiere of "MURDER AT THE MASQUE: Casebook of Edgar Allan Poe." The score was commissioned by Dances Patrelle to help celebrate their 20th Anniversary Season. It was the fourth collaboration with esteemed choreographer Francis Patrelle and his company

The performances were nearly sold out, reviews in the NY Times and Eyes on Dance as well as a tremendous response to the music; the CDs SOLD OUT. New CDs are on order andwill be available in mid July which will include an 8 page booklet with production photos by Rosalie O'Connor plus the music was mastered by Grammy winning mastering engineer Andreas Meyer. By mid/end July the recording will be available on iTunes worldwide as well as other online music outlets such as Amazon, Napster and CD Baby. MP3 Samples from the ballet can be heard on the music player at the top of this page. PRODUCTION PHOTOS COMING SOON!
