We returned to the beautiful Players Club on Grammercy Park in New York City! Featured the 18-piece HARLEM RENAISSANCE ORCHESTRA, DJ SWANK, burlesque by MELODY SWEETS and a specialty cocktail menu prepared and mixed by guest mixologist FREDO CERASO from Loungerati.
January 17, 2009 at GALAPAGOS ART SPACE featured acts included the J. WALTER HAWKES QUINTET, Freedom Haters, Moniker:Red, burlesque by Ruby Valentine and Weirdee Girl and Guest Mixologist & Specialty cocktail menu by Fredo C. from Loungerati.
October 30th 2008 at Galapagos Art Space featured JC Hopkins Biggish Band with KARLA MOSLEY, DEWITT FLEMING JR, QUEEN ESTHER & TODD LONDAGIN including vignettes from the Jazz, Swing, Burlesque Musical "Underneath A Brooklyn Moon." SUGAR SHACK BURLESQUE with Legs Malone and RunAround Sue. DJ Swank - spinning classic & modern lounge, swing, and trippy go-go electronica for your aural pleasure. VERGE – a group show of visual artists currated by Tiffany Hunold. Specialty cocktail menu by Loungerati and Giuseppe Gonzalez. Guest Mixologist & Bartender: Giuseppe Gonzalez.
June 27th, 2008 at the Players Club featured the notorious, the noir-ish JC Hopkins Biggish Band with Nicole Nelson and special guest Jolie Holland. Hosted by the irrepressible Mel Frye, dilapidated denizen of the Slipper Room and featuring the illustrious, the talented, Headmistress of the New York School of Burlesque, Jo Boobs. Tickling of the ivories by Jesse Gelber, accompanied on trombone and tap by Todd Londagin. Specialty cocktails by Loungerati.
December 30th. 2006 at Salon NYC featured the Todd Londagin BIg Band, Cocktail Angst in the downstairs lounge, plus the triumphant return of DJ Chops.
July 22, 2006 at Salon NYC featured the JC Hopkins Biggish Band w/ Andromeda Turre, a 12 piece big band with mostly original tunes by JC Hopkins. The second band was Vintage a 1920's & 30's quartet playing music of the era. Guest performers included a belly dancer, singer/songwriters, classical duets and others. At the bar the specialty drinks were invented and researched by Kevin Brown such as the French75, KB's Perfect Manhattan, a Proper Mint Julep and a Basil & Ginger Mojito. What started as a quest to rent a space with air conditioning evolved into an amazing event and just the beginning. This Salon was hosted by Patrick Soluri, Tom & Judith Sunshine of TommyWhiteTie.com and Andre Soluri and Lesley Martin of Prohibition Productions (the same folks who brought you the Piano Store).
